Chemical Peels

Chemical peels are a cosmetic procedure performed on the skin to improve its appearance by applying a chemical solution to exfoliate and remove the outermost layers of the skin. This process stimulates the growth of new, healthier skin cells, resulting in a smoother and more youthful complexion.

Chemical peels can address a variety of skin concerns, including:

Fine lines and wrinkles: Peels can help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles by promoting collagen production and tightening the skin.

Uneven skin tone: Peels can even out pigmentation irregularities caused by sun damage, melasma, or post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.

Acne and acne scars: Chemical peels can help unclog pores, reduce acne breakouts, and minimize the appearance of acne scars.

Sun damage: Peels can diminish sunspots, freckles, and other signs of sun damage.

Uneven skin texture: Peels can improve skin texture by reducing the appearance of roughness, blemishes, and scaly patches.

Peels such as alpha-hydroxy acids (AHAs) or beta-hydroxy acids (BHAs), are mild and exfoliate the outermost layer of the skin. They provide a gentle treatment with minimal downtime and are suitable for mild skin concerns. Normally clients already use a BHA or AHA at home in their skincare routine.

At Virtuoso Aesthetics we use stronger Trichloroacetic acids (TCA's) to penetrate the middle layers of the skin. TCA'S are far more effective at addressing moderate to severe skin issues and should only be used by trained professionals. There are two versions of one for the face which contains 35% TCA and one for the body that contains 50% TCA.

Chemical peels are a totally painless, needleless procedure that is suitable for all skin types. There is no downtime needed which means you could even book a treatment during your lunch hour.
