Dissolving
This procedure is a way to return areas that has previously been injected with dermal filler to their natural size and shape.
Dermal fillers typically break down over time due to naturally occurring hyaluronidase.
During treatment, we flood the area with concentrated doses of hyaluronidase, injected directly into the area to be dissolved. The injections break down the hyaluronic acid in the filler. This is then disposed of by the body’s natural lymphatic drainage systems.
There are lots of reasons why you might opt for this treatment. When fillers are injected too close to the surface of the skin, lumps and bumps can occur. This makes the lips appear misshapen. The surface can become uneven and look unsightly. When filler isn’t administered properly, it can migrate to other areas of the face. This leads to you looking swollen in other areas such as above the lips.
Another issue with fillers is overfilling. In the wrong hands, there is a risk that areas will be overfilled. This can lead to soreness and sensitivity, pain, bruising and discolouration.
Please note at the start of your filler dissolving treatment, a patch test is performed. The test will take seconds to perform but you will need to wait 30 minutes for the results. This for your safety.
Filler dissolving treatment can cause swelling in the treated area, so you won’t necessarily see the results straight away. It can take about 24-48 hours (or longer in some cases) for the swelling to go down. After this, you’ll be able to see your perfect results.
By using hyaluronidase to dissolve fillers we are able to give clients back their natural shape in a safe, clinical environment.
